NCYC!!!

The band has just returned from a blest experience at NCYC , (National Catholic Youth Conference) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Being a member of this ministry over the years has given me the opportunity to attend a lot these "Family reunions." why do I call big events like NCYC, NCCYM, and L.A. Congress family reunions? Because the first time I went to one, I made many acquaintances, and the next few times I went, those acquaintances became friends. And now, they are becoming family to me. I know that all of us billion-and-something Catholics in the world are one big family, so I guess I'm saying that these big get-togethers help me to experience that truth in a really tangible way. My favorite moment from this year's NCYC? That's tough. But one moment does stand out. The Josh B. Band was onstage backing up Sarah Hart during a "mega session, " as they're called. It's always amazing to get to play Sarah's songs. This time around was extra special because Jesse Manibusan and Steve Angrisano joined all of us onstage to pray a song called "Building the Kingdom" that Sarah, Steve, and Jesse wrote together. As the song began, all of us came together musically, though we'd had very little time to practice. And it truly felt like we were a few family members onstage, leading a few thousand more family members in praise. It was truly an awesome experience! Just a small example of how all of us in the Faith truly are one big family. Grae 11/21/11
