Christian's WYD
Its crazy. One million people gathered for the same reason. Faith. Bam. It's like all the fish in the sea. Sharks, whales, dolphins, seahorses, jellyfish, squid, blowfish, and turtles putting aside cultural differences for one big party under the sea. We did a lot of walking, eating, subway riding, listening (even though half the time we couldn't understand what they were saying because it was spanish.) We did a lot of music playing. But my favorite event that happened would be one that was, in a way, aligned either by God or by Continental Airlines. After our flight from Madrid, we missed our connection to Houston forcing us to stay the night in Newark. This put us on a new flight that we weren't originally scheduled to be on. I was seated in a middle row next to Veronica, a 29 year old girl from Ecuador. Through natural and organic conversation I was able to share my faith with her. We talked about the struggle of the Christian walk and the importance of forgiving. I shared how I came to know Christ. She seemed visibly moved by our conversation and told me that she had a desire to return to church. As touched as she may have been from our discussion, I was equally inspired because I became aware of the importance of studies, wisdom, and working hard to achieve all of God's desired goodness for me. In the end I was very happy to be at WYD - even happy that we missed our flight.
